To safely welcome back players, staff and spectators to the rink, tryouts will look a bit different this year. Capacity and insurance requirements necessitate the need for players to register in advance and public health restrictions require for contact tracing, masking in doors and screening.

Prior to Attending Tryouts

  • E-mail the Coach to express interest in your daughter attending and confirm a spot is available for her to attend a specific tryout date and time.

  • Register your daughter for Sharks Tryouts through the OWHA RAMP System by signing in, selecting participant registration, selecting the tryout package from the registration options, and completing the registration.

  • Request a permission to skate from your daughter’s former hockey association, only required for those players who were registered with another girls hockey last season.

For Tryouts

  • Complete a COVID-19 self screening (regardless of your vaccination status) using the provincial screening tool for your daughter and one spectator and show confirmation to the team’s staff prior to entering the facility.

  • Provide the contact information for your daughter and one spectator that can be shared with facility staff and Toronto Public Health for contract tracing purposes.

  • Show confirmation of your daughter’s tryout registration from the RAMP system and provide the $20 try-out fee to team staff either by cash or via etransfer.

  • Provide your daughter’s permission to skate to the team’s staff, only required for those players who were registered with another girls hockey last season.

  • Encourage your daughter to dress as much as possible in the parking lot before entering the facility. Players will be able to enter 10 mins before the start time of the try-out. Dressing room access will be available but limited to the capacity requirements posted and distancing rules.

  • Ensure that your daughter and spectator wear a mask at all times in the facility. Players may only remove their mask before entering the ice.

  • Players and staff may not share any personnel equipment. Players should be reminded to ensure they have all their equipment, jersey, full water bottle and stick prior to entering the facility.
