Sharks U18B team member Alyssa Hidalgo was a guest speaker at the In the Huddle: Lessons from Female Leaders in Sport event hosted by
Lead Thru Sport on Thurs. October 19 at the Markham Pan Am Centre.
This event provided an opportunity for female student-athletes to learn from the experiences of talented women in various fields. Speakers included an actress, current and former student athletes, as well as professionals that support athletes.
Alyssa talked focused on overcoming challenges. She shared her experience and the growing pains of being a child actress on the show Odd Squad. She also shared with participants the challenges she encountered when she returned to hockey. Concentrating on how she kept positive and fought to continue to play that game that she loves.
