The Scarborough Sharks are Tournament Champions, defeating Russell 2–1 in an intense overtime final!
The weekend was an unforgettable experience for the team, who rose to every challenge and facing top competition and long-time rivals to earn their place on the big stage Sunday.
The championship game lived up to the moment. The Sharks opened the scoring 1–0, but Russell quickly answered to even things up. In the third, the Sharks regained the lead 2–1 before Russell tied it again on a controversial play, with our goalie being pushed into the net while covering the puck. The goal stood but the Sharks refused to let it define the outcome.
In overtime, our goalie stood tall, making key saves to keep us alive. Then, with grit and determination, the Sharks buried a top-shelf winner to capture the title.
