Scarborough Sharks Outlast Oshawa in 6–4 Thriller
The U11 Sharks opened up the exhibition season with a showdown that had fans on the edge of their seats, as the Scarborough Sharks powered past the Oshawa team with a hard-fought 6–4 victory.
From the opening puck drop, the pace was electric. Scarborough struck first, but Oshawa answered quickly, setting the tone for a back-and-forth battle. By the second period, Oshawa had an early 3-1 lead. However, Scarborough bounced back in the second period with its high powered offence scoring 3 goals to take the lead going into the third. Scarborough Goaltending was tested all night, with Scarborough’s netminders standing tall against a flurry of late Oshawa chances. The Sharks’ balanced attack was equally impressive, as 5 different players found the scoresheet. “This was the kind of game you love to be a part of,” said the Scarborough Assistant
Coach. “The energy, the effort, the response when things got tight—it showed a lot about the character of this team." Scarborough will have the Labour Day weekend off, but will be back on the ice next week as they open up the Markham
Tournament against the Oshawa Lady Generals.
