The Scarborough Sharks Under-11 girls’ hockey team left it all on the
ice this past weekend in Markham, narrowly missing out on a chance at playing
in the tournament finals.
After dropping their first two games of the
tournament, the Sharks battled back to gain points in 3 straight games,
giving them an opportunity to advance to the tournament final.
Despite their relentless effort, the Sharks came up
just short, falling by the slimmest of margins. Coaches and parents alike
praised the team’s resilience, noting the remarkable progress the girls have
made since the start of the season.
“This group showed so much heart,” said Coach
Amato. “They never backed down, and they proved they can compete with anyone.”
While the tournament ended in heartbreak, the
Sharks’ performance turned heads across the rink. Their skill, teamwork, and
never-give-up attitude left no doubt that they are a force to be reckoned with
heading into the 2025 season.
