Have you ever wondered what makes for a great hockey experience? Why are some teams better than others? Why do some teams excel at playing as a team? And why are some coaches more successful at helping individual players reach their full potential?   I’ve spent the past 31 years uncovering the answers to those questions.   And more importantly, implementing proven methods to develop your daughter’s hockey IQ, skating, puck skills and conditioning.  With my proven methods, your player will have better game correction, practices, and overall development.    I’m David Trombley, and I’m excited to be the head coach for the Scarborough Sharks U13B team next season. My focus is on fun, development and growth as a person and player.   Like you, I am a parent with a young daughter. But I am also the owner of Hockey Extreme, a professional hockey school where we take passionate hockey players (both kids and adults) and make them awesome.  We have been operating for 31 years serving the Scarborough and surrounding GTA communities. One of my coaching highlights was in 1997 when I coached the North York Storm U15 girl’s team to the Ontario Provincial Championship.   
As the head coach, I will be bringing my years of experience to and would welcome the opportunity to discuss opportunities for your daughter next year.

Joe Smith

I am thrilled to step into the role as Coach for the U15B team with the Scarborough Sharks for the 2025/26 season. I’ve been coaching girls hockey since 2005 and have been involved with the Sharks since 22/23. I’m truly passionate about supporting players in their development both on and off the ice.

Having experienced firsthand how sports shape character and foster valuable life skills, I understand the importance of teamwork, discipline, and a genuine love for the game. As a coach, my focus is on helping players enhance their skills while also boosting their confidence, hockey IQ, and forming bonds with their teammates.

My ultimate goal is to guide players in becoming not just skilled athletes, but also strong teammates and individuals. I emphasize core values such as respect, integrity, reliability, teamwork, and a positive attitude. I believe that creating a supportive, collaborative environment is key to the team’s success, and I encourage players to give their best effort while enjoying the journey.

Competitive hockey requires commitment, and I strive to foster a culture where players are dedicated to both their individual growth and the overall success of the team. I also recognize the importance of balancing hockey with academic responsibilities, and I’m committed to helping each player reach their full potential while continuing to enjoy the sport they love.

Mike Budd

I am excited to lead the girls through many successes through the upcoming season.   I will bring out a former OHL coach, goalie coach and other skills coaches to assist with player and team development.  To improve individual skills, working on team plays, and fostering a strong team bond.

The season plan will be to attend at least three tournaments, preseason exhibition games, regular season, playoffs and playdown games. I will hold practice sessions that focus on developing fundamental hockey skills such as skating, puck handling, shooting, and game strategies. Tailor drills to match the skill levels of your players. Make use of available resources such as assistant coaches, former players, and guest coaches to bring in expertise and provide diverse perspectives on training and development. Emphasize the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect for teammates, opponents, and officials. Foster a sense of unity and collaboration within the team.  

I have been coaching or part of on-ice training in women's hockey for the last 6 years. I am currently an assistant coach of the U15B Sharks. I am also an AA coach and have coached at that level for 5 years. I look forward to having a positive, competitive and hard-working team next year.
